More perlite.

Looking good so far, pe likes extra water so u might wanna bottom water them a bit when they start to swell.

Also remember pe is a more potent variety ive heard 2- 3x.

Wondering what kind of mold/contam that light colored, thin stringy stuff in upper center is.  I thought they might be strands of polyfil, but when I pick up a sample it just dissolved in my fingers like a spider's web.  I seems pretty benign, whatever it is.

That is pinhead/cobweb mold.

Its looks benign now but give it a few more days and it will cover your sub, u need to move it outside before it sporulates.

Pinhead is a rampant pest, it wont eat your shit up like trich but its spreads quick.
It comes from stuff like oatmeal N shit like that besides being in the environment naturally.

That is still alot of spawn to throw away. MS genetics are hit or miss anyhow. Could have cloned the best mushrooms out of all those. I'm sure that whole entire pool of genetics were not bunk. But to each there own. Keep shroomin, Boogieman.

How does it affect the substrate and pinning?  There are other areas where it is even more faint and looks like tiny spider webs with very thin fibers.

Well its not good..haha Ive seen a few pics were it fruited okay.
When u move it outside mold usually takes a dive cause in your tub you have your myc, the mold and misc germs from your house when it goes outside and gets exposed to all these flora and fona it helps balance it out, try misting with some rain water.

You really just want it out cause if it shits spores in your home your gonna be dealing with them for a while unless u do a full detam of your work space.
