Help - do jars for g2g need tyvek?

When making jars for g2g and not inoculation, is a piece of tyvek necessary with the lid? Or is polyfill enough to provide gas exchange?
I have been using Doc34's wbs tek, which calls for both tyvek and polyfill, but I figure this is only necessary when inoculating those jars with a syringe and you'd be leaving a tiny hole. Just want to make sure
Thanks

no need to use 2 filters ever
tightly stuffed poly fill works great for me.

Great, thanks. I had a feeling the tyvek+polyfill was a tad bit overkill, I'm wondering if just using polyfill will result in overall faster colonization compared to using 2 filters.
Take care

You can just use the poly , ive never used tyvek. Just make sure its nice and tight.
What Ive found is better though, is go to Michaels or a craft store and buy a 5 dollar roll of felt. The thick kind, its pressed polyfill. You cut a circle and put over the lid and pop the band on. You can put it over the lids you already made the hole for the polyfill
Its a bit easier for G2G because it holds the lid and band together so you dont drop them or fumble your fingers over the jar.
With straight poly fill lids the only thing you can do to try to keep them as one is to kinda squeeze the band. Its clumsy and can move the air around too much
I use S FDs, but I use felt lids for the jars I dont have SFDs yet for.
Faster colonization? No thats up to genetics, temperature, maybe moisture content etc. Well restricted GE would probably slow it down, but I dont think Tyvek / polyfill combo would be *too* bad if you have a proper hole size
