Any of you recently successfully use sterilized coir?

Have any of you recently used sterilized coir?
I searched through older posts, and it seems no one has had a definitive experience, with popular opinion seeming to sway towards using sterilized coir because of its natural resistance to contamination.
Just looking for personal experiences to weigh on

btw I dont sterilize it I only pasteurize it with the rest of the additives I put in it (straw, manure, jiffy, compost, etc)

Yeah pretty sure the reason we pasteurize rather than sterilize is because it would be more susceptible to contamination - even though coir is pretty resistant to begin with.

Haha I should clarify.
I bombed my coir into the next galaxy. It's 100% sterilized instead of pasteurized and I am debating on what to do with it.

if you look through at similar posts... you'll see that a lot of people will recommend just using it because its already so contaminate resistant.
What I would do If i was in your situation would be to take all the sterilized coir/mix - and mix it back in with the stuff you haven't treated yet. Let that sit a day or to so that beneficial microbes could take back hold - and reattempt the pastuerization process.
in other words with coir a lot of people will only pasteurize 5 quarts at a time (whatevers convenient) and have some left over thats unpasteurized - mix it back in with the unpasteruized coir.

I think I'll do that!
Except maybe just mix it up with some new stuff, and just pasteurize immediately. My guess is at 50/50, there will be enough good stuff still in the mix by the end.
You da man, thanks for the help

For what it's worth, I always sterilize if using just coir & verm.
But when adding any other ingredients such as poo, straw, etc. Then I ALWAYS PASTEURIZE.
Haven't had a contam I can directly associate with this process.
Just my opinion and past, proven experience. Some may agree or not, but it has always worked for me.

Thats because coir is highly resistant to contamination - even when sterilized, and Verm is not a nutrient rich sub - thus resistant to contam.
But I'm fairly certain the pros will always recommend proper pasteurization of coir because it does have nutrients in it.

Yeah I was just a few moments ago rereading a thread where 2 tcs were stating the bucket tek partially sterilizes the coir so thats all i was saying.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20082991/fpart/1/vc/1 ^ heres one were the TCs are debating which method to prefer
seems like the jurys out, and if I were lazy - I'd just sterilize it
But I'm not

lol sterilizing is so much work imo.. especially your sub which you need to get to field capacity. If I could find a way to use old ran substrate on new bulk sub that'd be awesome! (no more pc)
but yes you are partially sterilizing your sub. when you pasteurize it but not completely which why we don't say sterilize you do leave beneficial micro organisms AND some non beneficial micro organisms hence why pasteurization has certain steps in order to defeat this
ONE MORE THING although they are TC's remember what works for them may not work for you be innovative and patient
