    #21164376 - 01/22/15 07:00 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

Reddish stipe, faint  to distinct "bands" on all stipe lightening towards top, darker at botttom.
All found in manure. Been warm in 70's for first time and freezing at night.
Black spores
... So panaleous anything good,?
Is there a list of all dung mushrooms some where? Good and bad?

Will I hurt myself if I eat anything on these pictures?
A pap should taste unpleasant and a cinct or sub would taste more .. Wild or tolerable?

None are toxic, but you won't get any psychoactive effects even if you eat all of them. Dung mushrooms that are psychoactive will clearly bruise blue if you pinch them. What part of the world are you in?

Except active Panaeolus (non-Copelandia) species don't always bruise at all & when they do it is often faint and/or just at the base or mycellium.

Panaeolus cinctulus aren't typically dung lovers though, are they? If you discounted Panaeolus cinctulus as a dung mushroom, then the statement is still correct (assuming you have no other species in mind in terms of a non-copelandia active Panaeolus)

Panaeolus cinctulus are common on horse dung and generally rare on cow dung.

This one might be a cinct:

Most are P. cinctulus or a macroscopically identical species.

I have never understood why it's said to be so rare from cattle dung, I've found more there than anywhere else, even lawns. Less common on cattle dung maybe... but not rare.
