ok so i have a nice 2011 jeep patriot 2.4 5 speed i bought a few months back. iv been adding my personal flares to make it my own and the next thing i want to do is the exhaust. yes its a 4 cyl i know!!! not looking to shake windows and wake nabours as i pull up. but i have this slick rugged jeep that purrs like a kitten, a pathetic tiny new born kitten.
i want just a bit of throat and growl to my jeep. 1-10 like a 3 or soft 4, nothing to big, just enough to make a double take. and GOD FOR BID i DO NOT want that shitty rice racer, crackly pissed off bumble bee sound. iv heard a magnaflow exaust would be good. flowmaster dosent really seem to be that great except for serious muscel but i could be wrong. i dont want anything near crazy just some rumble under the hood.
round a 200 dollar budget.
suggestions?

get some bullhorn pipes bro. im not actually sure if you can put them on a jeep, but on a deisel dodge truck they sound badass
i worked with a dude who had a truck just like this, his was a little louder and had a turbo though

large pipes would be counter productive on a small displacement engine, it would rob the engine of power by failing to scavenge some of those exhaust gasses from the combustion chambers
glass packs are a cheap option, if not, look to see what flow master offers

i went and asked my dad and he said you needed something called a "tuned header", which basically entails making all the exhaust pipes the exact same length. (like instead of a 17" and 20" pipe, a 20" and 20" inch pipe
then he said you should get an exhaust like a flowmaster and direct the majority of the exhaust into one pipe
sorry if that made no sense, my dads a mechanic so i asked him out of curiosity and thats what i understood from what he said
he also said that for about 25,000$ you could rip out the 4 cylender engine and install a 8 cylender. XD but im guessing your not intrested in that

try actually calling flow master, buying bullshit off the shelf like most people do is going to lead to disappointment, call them and see what offerings they have that are tuned for your application

you're looking at videos on youtube, that's not calling flow master
the cheapest option is to cut the muffler off, the next cheapest would to be to toss a glasspack on it. you'll never get the sound you're looking for without dropping some money in or doing some actual research such as calling flow master, borla or any other number of manufacturers and regardless of what you want, you may never come up with something close

3 phase is the standard for automotive purposes. All of the best controllers are for 3phase...assuming you're going with an AC motor. The voltage should be as high as you can manage in your battery bank.
DC motors are used for low budget do-it-yourself projects, but it's harder to do regen, and they require more safety equipment.

this is a motor

this is an engine

Motor: noun 1. a machine, especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device with moving parts.
prisoner you fail to prove you're smart once again.
Keep em coming though I love how you know everything since you've been building "engines" since you were 5 years old
You know how many people have told me they build engines and been full of utter nonsense?
