First Time High Tech Mono-Tub Grow with Pictures and Questions.

First I want to start off by thanking everyone on here for the wealth of information that I have accumulated from you all over the last couple months. I could not have found my way, if it were not for those that had previously led the way.
So I decided to I try my hand at my very first bulk mono-tub grow and used the resources and information on this site, as well as added a bit of applied science and personal creativity to create my own system.
I work in the medical field so a lot of the parts I used to construct this set up are used for ventilators (breathing machines) for very sick patient's. These parts (tubing's & filters) are all made to be anti-microbial, so I figured they would be great for keeping as clean as an environment as I could for the colonization and fruiting of mushrooms.
I used 4, 60 gallon totes. 1 Ultrasonic Humidifier modified to support the Blue Anti-Microbial ventilator tubing. 2 anti-Microbial drips bags used to collect excess fluid in the ventilator tubing.
Multiple Air Filters used for the ventilators (These are you plastic disks that you see sticking out of the sides of the totes). These essentially take the place of the Poly-fill that would normally be used.
60cm CPU fan with HEPA filters cut-to-size and framed in with black electrical tape and clear silicone to ensure adequate FAE while keeping unwanted organisms out of the totes.
I have small hanging shop lights with clamps that clamp on the plastic shelving unit on each tier each containing one CFL bulb that have the natural daylight balanced color temperature of 5500K for pinning.
The Lights, Fans, and Ultrasonic Humidifier are all on timers. The lights are timed from 6am-6pm. The CPU Fans are timed to go on for 15 minutes every 2 hours, and the Ultrasonic Humidifier is timed for 30 minutes every hour. This The timing is the one aspect I'm not fully comfortable with yet. When I harvested these the Substrate seemed pretty dry to the touch so I have to experiment with the timers for optimal conditions...(May Just have the Ultrasonic Humidifier run all day)
I use a 3 inch high black growing trays which are used for wheat grass. Each tray can contain/hold a Mixture of 4quarts of colonized WBS and 5quart Coir/Verm substrate mix. Each tray yielded me close to 93-96 grams dry weight per tray. So the total dry weight of all 4 trays was roughly 374g or 13.20oz.
Some feedback will be greatly appreciated! I would like you guys to definitely comment on the couple of pictures of the mushrooms when they were taken out of the totes and put on the counter to harvest. To me they seemed insanely thick. To the point where mushrooms were growing on-top of mushrooms and smothering smaller mushrooms from reaching the surface. Is this normal? Is that mushroom Darwinism? Only the fittest and strongest shroom's make it to the top to spread their veils?
And overall do they look healthy to you guys? The Cap size and characteristics (non-Splitting),color, and thickness of stems... I did have a very small amount of fuzz at the base of the shroom's right where the stem pins from the substrate. I have heard that, that fuzz is due to high levels of CO2.

Fruiting is not a sterile process.....you mixed millions of contams into the substrate when u spawned it....protecting it now is just silly......
Fruiting is usually done in open air....

im so glad to see someone else doing stuff like this great job man, please continue to post details!
Ive been experementing with some similar stuff using arduino and medical components for an automated system, and really want to optimize it, id love to stay in touch

Great setup, only thing id change is your fruiting. Maybe setup anothet rack next to your current for only fruiting. With that you don't need hepa or ultrasonic mister going cause it should take care of itself with the help of the fan, than you could just have colonizing on, and always rotate so you will never run outta fresh mushies:)

New growers always try to build the best "automated fc", when they don't even really understand what the mushrooms need....
My suggestion to these people is to try the methods that are tried and true first, then experiment....
That being said, the best automated FC setup IMO is a monotub......they are fully automated by default....no need for any electronic crap....
The tub has holes that are stuffed with polyfill in such a way which allows tons of fresh air to come in, triggering evaporation off the substrate, which gives the tub all the humidity it needs.....the substrate is constantly generating heat, which means there should be constant condensation on the surface of the sub.....this is what constantly evaporates off....there isn't even a need to mist....
No fans, no humidifiers, no arduino.......just full, natural, automation.

It's still pretty fuckin' cool though. His set up seems to work well. Some peeps like to build stuff...it adds to the fun.

I will say good job but as pf said none ofbthat is needed for tubs, and it isn't co2 that causes the fuzz it is stale air

I'm fully aware fruiting is a separate part. I was actually "trying" to combine the process of both colonization and fruiting to make it more "automated". I wasn't being lazy, I just wanted to have my mushrooms go from a colonization period to a fruiting period all at once in the same tub with no change in setup. I seemed to accomplish that as each tray both colonized and fruited in the same environment with no issues...

Yes, adding my own personal touch of creativity and ingenuity to any hobby of mine allows me to full immerse myself in it as well as enjoy it more!
