well I may not be as specific as a lot of grow logs here but I'll keep updating with pictures and see how I do, advice is always welcome. I've done pf tek for years but I'm finally making the jump to mono after fruiting many PE cakes with very minimal results....
So I'm pretty much following this tek here http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19792837/fpart/1/vc/1/nt/19 and I think the tub looks about ready to case, if I should case it. Mixed it up on thursday and now as you can barely see in the bottom picture, there are just a few uncolonized patches left, should be 100% tomorrow.
should I case this? ... I saved some of the verm/coir mix in the 5 gallon bucket like he suggests but I've been wondering if that's good to use sitting around in the bucket for 5 days like that? ..... as I type this I'm reading his piece about dialing in your mono, is this route better then a casing layer? - http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17332777#17332777

that's my tub, looks a little yellow in the picture but that's the WBS... it looks healthy and all of it colonized evenly. That's 5 days since being spawned. I didn't think I should remove the lid for a picture so I did my best with it on.

Hey man Welcome!
Everything looks great. Because they are PE, I would let the tub consolidate 3-4 days after 100%, then case. Using leftover coir/verm is fine. With CVG though you want to fruit right after applying the casing, not after waiting a few days. That tub is 5 days in? Damn.

PE benefits greatly from casing. It cuts down quite a bit on the blob situation, when it doesn't eliminate it completely.

so just to update my progress, I cased on sunday night and everything is still looking good. Here's a before and after picture...

there wasn't enough to cover the mycelium 100%, was a few patches of white here and there. I introduced to fruiting conditions right away and its looking healthy, starting to colonize the casing layer a little... here's a picture from a couple hours ago

not much to see now but ill keep you posted as it comes along

so I guess its looking like a Blob first flush here. Is it pretty much just genetics that determine this or do growing variables have to do with it to?
the casing layer colonized 100% and it was still at least 3 days before any sign on knotting or anything. Now a few days after that it's nothing but blobs... all good though, I knew it was a possibility.
all pictures are from tonight. sorry they kind of suck but those are definitely all blobs. Most look like metabolites in the pictures but they aren't, I haven't seen any of those.

Both genetics and environment are at play here. We haven't really nailed down why PE blobs without a casing, but we do know anecdotally that it does.
You can help us help you by taking pictures with the lid of your tub removed. I promise it won't hurt anything.

alright cool I didn't know with the lid... but the lights off now and I just woke off the couch and am ready to crash, ill get the best pics I could with the lid off after work...
I'm not supposed to fan the mono right? ... I've just been following the "dialing in your mono" thread, with the bottom holes packed tight and the top loose. Sides have stayed moist and everything has been looking healthy so I haven't touched anything.

Nope, you don't need to fan.

Yep, that's a pretty sweet blobset. You can harvest those whenever, and the next flush should be real fruits.

should I wait for them to grow a little before harvesting or would it be better to pick them soon?
and how do I go about the 2nd flush... do I dunk it all or just give a heavy mist? and then do I fan at all for the 2nd or future flushes or just keep it going the same?
thanks for the help

Stay the course! Harvest the blobs whenever--now, or after your first flush. It doesn't much matter. Just keep up fruiting conditions and fruits will appear.
