You have a contamination. Most likely Aspergillus or Penicillium. I forget which one is more common or why you would get one over the other, but it is not mushroom mycelium. Sorry man.

Can the mycelium in the bag fight it off or is it a lost cause

I would consider it lost. I have lost jars to similar green contaminations before. The mycelium couldn't fight it off, and eventually the contam overtook the jar.
I'd scrap it, and try again. I know that's no fun to hear. Sorry man.
Wait for others to chime in though. Maybe they know something I don't.
Also, this thread is in the wrong place. It might become recategorized into the Contamination Forum or in Mushroom Cultivation.

if you bought pre-sterilized bags with self sealing injection port and a spore syringe, you don't need sterile technique. the contam came from one or the other and it sounds like the company that sent them to you should send you another batch

I disagree. You should still torch the needle between inoculations and be reasonably clean.
I bet the spore syringe is probably the culprit tho. Take a few drops of the spore solution to some agar plates and see if it's clean. It's possible you contaminated it during inoculation. But if your sterile technique was good the only contams that show up on the agar probably were in the syringe when you got it.

Why is there any need to argue on how many time we need to sterilize things, it's like momma always said, "better safe than sorry". With this in mind why not take the extra 1-2 minutes to make sure everything is properly sterilized.
just saying

no argument here. i was just saying that if the sterilization work is already done for the guy and all he needs to do is stick a needle through a port, there's not much sterile technique needed. except, as juice pointed out, sterilizing the needle. i agree with him
the purpose of my statement, though, is that it is most probable that the contamination came from the syringe or the pre-sterilized grain.

If the OP used a sterile needle and wiped the injection port with an alcohol swab I think it's safe to say it the vendor's bad
