id help...long shot?
    #21140140 - 01/18/15 05:51 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

Whats up shroomery. Was taking a walk in my neighborhood today and stumbled upon these. I know it wont meet the id request format, but i couldnt pick at the time. So, stem, gills, bruising, and spore print idk. I can just tell you that they grew in a well manicured lawn by pine trees, near lakewood, WA.  I know its a long shot, but figured some T.I's would recognize. Thanks in advance. Im hoping all this fungi im seeing around means i might be able to find some cyans if i take a trip to tacoma again

Yeah the are a good edible. A shot showing the stem and gills would clear it up right away.

Definitely Flammulina velutipes :super:

The ones that aren't rotting should still taste good.

The gill attachment ranges from broadly to narrowly attached. Narrow attachment sometimes looks like free attachment. I think they are very good fried in butter and added to eggs, stems and all. Try to cut away the dirt. I don't usually wash them in water.
