RR has stepped away for the moment as he deals with his personnel life and will more then likely not return. i wanted to post this as a thank you for everything he has done for our wonderful hobby and this site which is a lot more then just how to grow mushrooms, he also guided me and many others on how to teach people and with that his knowledge will always be passed down. and on that note feel free to post your own thank you's or favorite RR moments as i will sticky this for awhile. much love cronicr

Seems I got to the party late, and never had the chance to get introduced. Never the less, RR's little mountain is only a hop, skip and a jump away from my little mountain, so maybe someday our paths will cross. Until then, may all your weeds be wildflowers, and may all your fences have gates.
Thanks for everything you've contributed to this site, most of us wouldn't be successful without the people like you!

triple cronicer
I remember posting a "Where's Roger" thread when i stepped back into the shroomery scene on the regular. My heart sunk a little when I found out he stepped away from mycology. Miss seeing his name next to the 'last post' on 1/2 or more of the threads on the first page. I always tell myself he'll be back.
I believe he was the #1 contributor to information pertaining to mushroom cultivation on this site. Invaluable info and a main reason I am where I am today in my own endeavors
Soon his name is gonna be a legend --------- If you see this Roger, good luck in the rest of your life and whatever you choose to grow I'm sure you'll find a way to master it. I want to try some of your buds! You'll forever be missed in my eyes, wish you were still around so I could
Personal thanks, Bugler Boy
-------------------- The mushroom speaks: '"I am old, older than thought in your species, which is itself fifty times older than your history. Though I have been on earth for ages I am from the stars. My home is no one planet, for many worlds scattered through the shining disc of the galaxy have conditions which allow my spores an opportunity for life... How the hypercommunication mode operates is a secret which will not be lightly given to man. But the means should be obvious: it is the occurrence of psilocybin and psilocin in the biosynthetic pathways of my living body that opens for me and my symbiots the vision screens to many worlds"

Thanks RR. Lets grow mushrooms gave me a good general understanding of what needs to be done to grow mushrooms successfully.

Some of the things I've appreciated about RR-
His crusade to improve and elevate the quality of the information at the Shroomery and the OMC in general. Frankly when I started coming here years ago, the lack of understanding was stunning. We had discussions on crossing shrooms by dropping 2 different "strains" on agar going on by people who would argue that no cell can have 2 sets of DNA. Look back at the MC posts from the early 2000s for gems like the oven tek.
A lot of others were on this crusade as well, but RR is arguably the most noteworthy in this area.
His refusal to send "Let's Grow Mushrooms" out for overseas production, in spite of its effect on his profits and marketing. I'm not a fan of Walmart and I sure as hell am not a fan of the economic slavery Chinese people endure so we can have disposable televisions. Very few people put their conscience above their finances but RR did and that tells me all I need to know about his character. I'm as grateful for the statement that makes as I am for his contributions to the OMC. You're a true Patriot, RR.
His selfless use of his time on this forum. RR has been far more than a moderator and vendor to this place. Thread after thread after thread of help for anyone willing to listen after asking a question. His taking the time to prove what he was saying was legit.
Redboy!
Thanks for your foundational work for growers everywhere RR.

well that sucks to hear, but even still, much respect to him!!! his posts will live on forever (i hope) and help generations and generations of noobs and advancing growers to come. i know i have to personally thank him for all his info and videos. i'd not doubt that he was the most helpful person in my last few months of reading. i saw his videos on youtube a while back and then once i started reading more on the Shroomery and realized how awesome RR was i felt bad for watching all his videos for free so i bought them! i'm happy to own them now for whenever i need a quick reference. i've got the pressure cooker running right now for the first time and thanks to RR (and the rest of the Shroomery) i feel decently confident in this first grow! i know i sure as hell won't EVER forget to flame sterilize, Thanks!

Yea I gotta take a moment to say thanks as well. I've been reading this site since early 2000s and really owe alot of the common knowledge accessible to the new home grower to RR.
