Aborts? Too much misting? Not sure what I did

The trouble started after the most advanced caked was picked. I did not roll them after because there were many pins. The pins and smaller ones started getting darker after. There are still some with brown caps. Other cakes have darkened pins too now, and I am not sure why.
My sgfc is elevated and has holes on all sides. I mist daily.
Are these aborts?
Are cakes damaged by picking?
Are they too far gone to save?
Is it wrong to directly mist a cake? How much should I be misting if I am too much water is the problem here.
These are my first, so I am not sure what I did. Things looked much more promising a few days ago.
Thanks guys.

Those fruits are definitely pretty soaked, but they might recover. You know about misting schedules, right? Fan on a regular schedule, and mist whenever you don't see visible moisture on the surface. If they're still glistening, don't mist. When you do mist, do it directly but from a distance.

I have an extra fish tank air pump. Do you think that would help?
No, I watched the videos, but I don't remember a misting schedule.
How long would you wait to mist again?
Should I dry the foil they are sitting on?
Thank you!

Also, should I leave the lid off to help dry things out a bit?

No, no pumps! They'll desiccate your cakes in like five seconds flat.
If you want to leave the lid off, you won't believe how fast the evaporation happens. Keep an eye on it.

Do you have any idea of how long this situation takes to correct itself?
What is the impact of this in the long-run?
So I should stop all misting until they become brown again?
Thanks!

I'd say you'll know in twelve hours whether it'll correct itself, but I wouldn't leave it open overnight. Overall those cakes look healthy. The fruits are just a little too wet. And yes, I'd stop misting until the stipes turn back white.

I wouldn't take off the lid. And as van see griegen said, they look a bit wet so ease up on the misting

I will wait to mist for sure. I think I got carried away....
How long does something like this take to clear up? Will they lighten up a bit and look like the ones that are still healthy?
Thanks guys!

Either that or they'll turn black and die. But yeah, I think they'll lighten up.

Sadly some of the pins have turned black already. Do I remove them?
Thank you.

If they're still around at your next harvest you can consider it. If you don't, the mycelium will often reabsorb them and try again.

hey new to this. How about you leave your cakes alone and watch what happens. If you do decide to pull off the dead ones how about only doing it to half the cakes. Then wait and see what happens. The number one mistake the noobs make is messing with the cakes too much. They mess with stuff everyday and end up screwing things up in the long run. Watch them grow. Learn something.

Buy a flo master sprayer for a finer mist and don't spray so much/so close

Thanks guys. I will definitely lay off the spraying and try out the flo master. Some of the pins have turned black. So I should just leave them? Do you roll in verm when you are sure they died or just leave them in sgfc and carry on. I still have some that look very healthy. I stopped misting and today those look a bit better.

Just take them out when you harvest they won't hurt anything, if they are aborts (and not rotten from being watered too much) you can still eat them and they tend to be a little more potent for their size. And just make sure you do a lot of reading on the methods you're using, you don't need to know everything just learn as much as possible about everything you're doing.
