Reverse Osmosis- Good for soaking grains?
    #21122518 - 01/14/15 08:58 PM (9 years, 4 months ago)

I have searched it but I did not see anyone address it directly. Is it okay to soak grains?

Yep. Kind of expensive to use to get a bunch of grass seeds wet, though, don't ya think?

Well at 29 cents a gallon I could think of a million other ways to go broke.

29 cents a gallon! Where? It really doesn't matter IME (albeit, limited). I wouldn't think you need that much treatment. I just use tap water

Just pointing out that most of us use tap water.  There's nothing wrong with RO, IMO.  Some will argue you're losing minerals present in the tapwater, but in my opinion the grains already have an abundance of them.

I have always used distilled water in my spore syringes.

Reverse osmosis is actually better than tap water for anything.  :awesomenod:

If your set up for it already. I say go for it.

He is talking about soaking grains tho. Seems like overkill? Yeah I would def use DI for a syringe though!

Anytime I autoclave water it is DI.
