Yeah - funny you say that, it also crossed my mind that when someone sends you something in a trade, often times, they could pretty much label it whatever and you might not know until you grow it out, at least with species within the same genus in this case.
Yeah I think that happened with my "ATL7"...

Well I made like 6 or 7 jars of it. All I did was clean it on agar (one transfer), so it isn't like I got a bad isolate. No stones at all that I can see after like 4 months or longer. I cased two jars with peat in trays and put in my SGFC. Waited over a month and got nothing.
Maybe I got super bad genetics. I don't know how that is possible with 6 MS jars. I MIGHT see a few tiny stones, but I can't really tell. Seems a bit weird to me.
The guy I traded with also told me that the print I sent him was "unusable" and that he threw it away. It was just a normal cube print...
Who knows. In any case I will be throwing that print away.

Lame -- that really sucks. I have a tampanensis that I printed if you want it?

I'm really hopeful with this Psi azurescens spawn - it's really tearing through the wood chips and cardboard. MUCH faster than my past attempts, maybe the agar/iso work paid off?

Thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I started so early since I've read in my zone, you should start around December? Though this mycelium is a pretty aggressive colonizer. I thought it would run much slower

Considering how aggressive and gorgeous that myc is, I'm really curious to see how it fruits.
Maybe you'll have some kind of giant freak azure's

Haha - that would be awesome! Too bad it's at least 10 months (at least) of waiting before I may see anything

The west coast hasn't been hit with that much snow, but I think it's still too cold to do anything outdoor where I'm at aswell.
It'll give me time to get a cyan culture started.
Anyone know first hand what kind of low temps they can handle through the winter?

I've still been picking fresh cyans in Seattle as recently as last week. I'm hoping the rain this week brings another late flush. I've been keeping tabs on a couple of spots for months now and they can come back after freezing and still flush again so...

I have to keep feeding it wood chips, mycelium growth is aggressive - I hope it doesn't contam/stall (as mentioned above) as it keeps getting thicker, considering it seems like this winter will never end.

Mycelium is still tearing through the woodchips - this tub has to weigh close to ten pounds at this point; I might have to consider splitting it up? Winter has NO end i sight here
