I don't see how trays would be any different as for as consolidation goes. And I wouldn't use monotubs if I had his setup either.

The fruiting chambers are completely different and operate on different principles, for one.  Substrate depth, for another.

Sub depths can be the same. Either way I don't see how it would matter that much for consolidation. Two and half inch subs are often used in both trays and Monos. Foil with a few holes vs imperfect lid for GE. In any case I don't have a strong opinion on it either way. All I am saying is that there are arguments to wait rather than fruiting immediately after 100 percent. :shrug:
