I bucket-tek that shit.
Ain't nobody got time for that. If I saw an increase in yield or colonization then I'd pasteurize but for the same performance I'm not putting this shit on a stove and getting all hi-tech with it when I could literally dump water into a bucket and achieve the same results.
The one thing I will give Frank's tek over Damion's is I find it easier to get the right moisture content. With Damion's tek 4 qts is just kind of like a starting point.
Took me two CVG runs to realize that 5 1/2 qts brought MY brick up to field capacity.
But user Azur swears by pasteurization and he pulled a 200 gram single Penis Envy shroom

Nice, thanks for sharing. I was planning to do the bucket tek for my first run. Especially since I'm using CVG and it seems to be more forgiving. Cheers!

I'd def bucket-tek my first run. If you have all that extra sensor shit then go for pasteurization but both bullets kill the cat.

That's because what he actually swears by is hpoo. Pasteurization is just a requirement for hpoo as a bulk substrate. Sterilized hpoo in Muda jars however... would probably perform great.

You don't need some fancy thermometer. A normal shitty meat thermometer works fine.

He also writes poems about how he doesn't recommend the bucket tek.

I don't have it ,
When I read the tek I looked all over my house and even drove over to my moms to see if she had one and all of my boys aren't the meat thermometer type so I just went with what I had at the time.

Just to clear the air, the bucket tek works fine for coir, verm and gypsum. You won't have the same luck adding things like coffee or poo because You need to pasteurize properly for ammendments that are not minerals.
Proper pasteurization is easy, though. You just need a thermometer and a big pot or PC and you'll need to learn how to do it if you want to work with poo one day...

For what it's worth I've been bucket tekking my coir/verm/gypsum for years without much contamination at all. The contamination I've had I can trace back to spawn, almost certainly.
The tub in my sig is from bucket tekked coir/verm/gypsum.

how much water should be used for the brick, and should we cut holes in the mini before or after colonizing the coir/verm? how many holes should be in the mini? seeings how you just cover the holes with tape anyways. After tubs ready to fruit how often do i mist? if at all... and how do you go about rehydrating after the first flush?

No,
Seriously though. Search Minis and get the world.

I live in the suburbs so poo isn't something I can go to a ranch and pick up. Azur pulled that 200g shroom off Hpoo.
Also I meant a difference in CVG results.
