White mold (cobweb)in sawdust spawn

Dear All,
I have made some spawn by steaming those between 100 - 120 celcius, colled overnight then inoculated by grain mother culture. Now most of the spawn affected by cobweb, within 4-5 days the whole spawn become white. Those becoming green now. Though some spawn is running fine. What could be the reason of that , its winter here in Bangladesh and the average %RH in lab is around 80.
Thanks,

Pictures are almost the only way someone could give you solid advice when it comes to contamination. Descriptive words usually arent enough to diagnose what is going wrong.

you steamed the sawdust for how long? usually people either pasteurize at 160 F for 1 hour, OR sterilize at 212 F for 1-2 hours at 15 psi, OR sterilize at 212 F at 1-3 psi for 8 hours. anything in between those parameters will partially sterilize/over-pasteurize your substrate and you will get high contam rates

120c is 248f, he was sterilizing spawn. You need 15psi to get steam to 121c so he's using a PC. The question is exactly how, and how long.

PCing at 15 psi ~ 250f/121c not 212f. I'm guessing this was just a typo.

Exactly, so posts talking about pasteurisation temperatures are going to confuse the issue.
Need much more detail to help. he may have followed times and temps but with 1 massive bag or any other long list of possibilities.

if im reading correctly it seems like the straw was exposed to upto 248F for who knows how long...
Pasturisation obliterated, fully sterile straw is the result, no good bacteria to protect the mycelium.
or am i missing the point?

Sounds more like trichoderma to me. Does cobweb turn green?

Nope, he said he was making spawn. Not straw substrate.

i see your point, solarity. yes, it was an oddly worded request with no details or photos and the OP has not returned to clarify things. we can only speculate
