RR would never say to soak with distilled,it is toxicto mycelium.
a second flush can be there with your first pinset so it is important when harvesting to leave those pins there, just give it time...if it is not contaminating just wait it out, your hole placement is not normal

If you didn't case that, then that tub is not fully colonized; you have clumps of uncolonized substrate all over that tub. Search for 'Monotub' in the search bar and compare your setup to that.

Sometimes I fruit my stalled tubs early and they always still continue to colonize slowly during fruiting.

use tap water. Distilled water is de-ionized water. so lacking in dissolved goods that it acts somewhat like a solvent in trying to attain dissolved ions to reach equilibrium or in the form of a concentration gradient in aqueous solutions
