Use 1 part of everything from water to verm to manure to flour and then your dry layer like normal, case in the jar and fruit, or better yet check out pancakes in the search bar

You want pasteurized manure for one. Sterilizing manure is in most cases worse then doing nothing @ all.
I've personally never seen Pans done on cakes either. You're going to need to do them on grains and spawn to bulk.
Manure is a bulk substrate. You're not going to want to case with it. You're going to want to case with either peat or coir, properly pasteurized, for optimal results. You need to do a lot of reading, pans are a more delicate growing process than Psilocybe Cubensis. I would grow bulk a couple times with cubes first than do some reading on Pans.
Beginners guide to bulk growing
I say get that under your belt first....

This is all good advice. I use one gallon of boiling water poured over one full coir brick from the pet shop in a 5gal bucket with a towel put over the top with a bungee cord around it and let it sit until it is cool to pasteurize my casing layers for bulk pan grows. I've never done them on cakes either only grains. I like rye berries personally. Just read, read and more reading until you find a tek you feel comfortable at attempting and take you time.

I've seen pans grown on cakes, they just case it with peat moss or cactus mix or even casing plain grains with potting soil..

I was talking about macmerdins simple pancakes, it should be on page one of the grow log forum, sterilizing manure in cakes is fine as you have a filter, not for open air but to make cakes it is no problem at all
