high mountain compost

anybody used this stuff? how is it?
it says it's pre-pasteurized and moistened... does that mean you can just mix in spawn and it's good to go?
also... how large is a 5 pound bag of the stuff?

at $3.50 a pound, i don't think it's gonna be worth it for me. i can get a whole bale of straw for that much, and horse shit for free.

Whoever said "Use it 4 a casing" is definatly wrong. Casings are non-nutritive. You can use this as a bulk substrate, or mix with straw. Don't case with it, and don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about.

I didn't mean to be mean, but if someone had wasted their last few jars of spawn and got large amounts of contaminants, that would have been more "mean" than my comment. Don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about isn't mean, it's logical.
