This is the same clone I've been fucking with for like two months now. It pinned on all my other plates too but that's the only one that I gave light. The others got darkness or very very indirect light. Motherfuckers trying to tell me light doesn't influence fruit or cap size....

I think it was Ghatti in some other thread, don't remember which, acting like I pulled "light affects cap size" out of my ass. May go post the rather conclusive pictures that I have with this clone now.

Right, well, like you said, for amateur growers it's all about the same. We don't need to know why, just that 9 times out of 10, when you do A, that B and C occur.
It's a conclusive correlation.

Does anybody have any comparable agar pins? I have no idea how big they typically get so I wasn't even sure if this one was really a big deal. The clone that I took it from was an agar pin that was a bit smaller, but, I have a feeling this could just be a clone that really likes agar, more than bulk subs. Could be the perfect culture for poms, actually.

I've never had a pin that big that wasn't on a pom. Would def try it out.

Wonder if it'd be worth it to run a bead of silicone down the center to make 2 section plates or maybe make a Y plate lol I doubt the silicone would stay in place unless you roughed or scored the area some, just a thought for the hell of it.
Somebody probably mentioned this before

Given how small these are already you don't need to divide these. Working in divided plates is not as fun as it looks IMO.

I applaud your ingenuity but I think working in a divided pasty plate would be a nightmare. I've never heard anyone but RR say they liked divided plates.

Yeah, I can imagine the fun factor being 0/5 shrooms on that one, especially given the depth of the minis.

I count the walls of a pastyplate limiting you to one culture and making you work in a deep well (to thwart air currents) as an advantage over regular petris.
Yeah the thwarting air current part may be bullshit but I think there is an aerodynamic advantage that could be proven in a wind tunnel or something.

I like to hold it sideways when I make my cuts and tease out the wedge to lessen the chance of something falling down into it, I like having the walls myself. If there were taller that might suck but it feels just right
