the real wealth and the qualities of people
    #21079606 - 01/06/15 08:26 PM (9 years, 4 months ago)

the more i read and watch the more it doesnt add up

on one side i see the numbers for top college degrees engineering tops it with 3.2mil LIFETIME earnings.

meanwhile i see celebrities making that in a year or less without having a degree

then we have the major company owners that seem to be just chillin at home with their family most of the time not working

so it seems like no matter what, the person who owns something always gets more.

then we got gazillions of articles online reposting same supposed qualities of rich people.

but i have a feeling that they are missing out something.
the qualities that get you ahead of the competition are usually not mentioned. when time comes to play dirty.

i dont think i wrote the question properly
its hard to explain
im talking about the values that were taught to poor people seem to be much different than of very rich people.

its not that they know something we dont. the information is out there

were just taught to not accept that information as truth

like certain values that are considered bad and evil are the same values that make people suceed in very competitive world

i just feel that being raised in a poor society its not the money that separates us but the mind.or the values that we "gathered" from all the poor people around us and they are being reinforced over and over by same poor people around us. leading us to poor decisions and poor choices

Im not sure that values has as much to do with it as opportunity, choice, and freedom.

A less well off person may have to get a job immediately after highschool in retail or something, where a wealthy person has the option to go to university right away. While in university they have the ability to socialize more because they don't need a part time job, but can focus on student groups, clubs, and less formal settings. With their social contacts after uni graduation they have better job prospects and earning power.

Then the poorer person has poor kids, and the uni grad can send their kids to private school, tutoring or whatever.

It comes down to social circles and opportunity. But that being said consumerism and consumtion is taught to everyone, and fortunes have been squandered at every level of society.

Rich people can smoke crack and be trust fund bums, but the investment income on 100s of millions means they won't ever be sleeping on the street or pan handling.

There is only "so much" money in the world and we cant make more , but what we can do is WE AS A SOCIETY tax rich people and corporations because when the handful of elites who own everything want to hoard the wealth for themselves , the wealth doesn't spread and the middle class drops significantly.

The poor never had very  to begin with which is the point exactly , the corporations cut a deal with bulk manufacturers and said "hey , we like buying from you although we'd only continue if you diminish  the quality of our products so doesn't  hold up to its orignal standards because that way people will continue buying duck tape that isn't as sticky , Pyrex plates from walmart that blow up in your face( it happened to me) , then they send you to the hospital( the elites don't give a fuck because they profited at the store , and the hospital bills.)

if you had high quality stuff all the time America won't be the consumer nation it is and there  would be no reason to shop and hoard if you had everything you wanted , right ?

Conglomerate corporations have the cheapest prices  but they're  not the best ,  because what would be best is to not be so cheap because when we shop from them , they pay their workers A SMALL PENSION of what they deserve , don't pay taxes because they make billions of dollars(that billions of dollars should be used to FEED THE WORKERS , but Instead it sits in the bank oaccounts of a few scumbags who want the world to be an unbalanced war over incomes.

Tax rich people and make them give back their dirty blood money

the resources are limited. money is not based on limited resources. its based on debt. we can print as long as we have something to print on an dwhen we run out we can switch to electronic currency. its pretty much limitless.

money itself is not evil its just a tool like a gun or knife

we switched to paper bills to allow big companies to have more resources to do what they need.. nasa to build sparechips... etc.
but private companies took advantage of that and use it to profit and take control of population

Ahab McBathsalts i like that post what else you got? im interested.

I come from a predominantly blue collar area and ALL of my friends from back home have no sense of investment, which is a key factor to consider.  These are older Millennials who either (in order of popularity) spend their money, save their money, or rely much to heavily on the faulty investment advice of friends and family members...that's if they have any investment-minded ideas at all.  No matter how hard I tell them or try to show them the light, they are stuck in this way of thinking.  I even offer them excellent opportunities on certain things like real estate...all they need is to fork over a small investment.  No one ever opts in.  And they know I make money.  Its baffling to me that they'd want such short term gratification of spending rather than significantly growing their worth.  But that is the human condition...

Investment builds wealth but so many people can barely save ...what happens when you tell them not only can they not spend that money but they may lose it?  At least when they save it they know they can withdraw at any time if need be.  I don't think it's so much as differing values or getting dirty but that, when the average engineer gets out of college, he is quite happy with his $60k a year job and the opportunity to grow through his company to reach a comfortable 6 figure a year salary.  He may be lucky and become an executive that qualifies him as wealthy but lets face it...most people entering the workforce won't ever receive executive compensation.  Add in a lady-friend and the possibility (and pull) of marrying and starting a family, buying a house, and all the things of the American Dream.  Sounds good, right?  But what about the few who don't go for the comfort or easy living right off the bat?  The kid who, upon getting the $60k a year job, has a hunger to save, invest, and build his net worth until he is considered wealthy?  Sure luck is involved, but if you research, are rational and driven...you can significantly decrease the risk of investing.  Of course they could lose it all if they aren't smart, and most aren't willing to put in the work to get smart...this is the fear that seems to keep most happy where they are.

im actually talking about the very rich.
not middle class.
the people that are way up there in top 10s of everything

the people that all poor people hate and envy at the same time

poor people say about them that they are opressors and unfair and built their wealth on the broken backs of poor people etc etc

i dont have rich friends or family or even anyone i know that i can ask these questions directly

bojangles you told half of the issue.

anyone ever talk to the extremely rich person and ask what he thinks about the order of the world?

because i have a strong feeling that the problem is not opression of the rich people.
the problem is the swamp that poor peope have created for themselves and they pull everyone in it with them (mentally) and its hard to get out of it.

when i see a millionaire on tv i think what does he have that my friend doesnt yet he looks identical to that millionaire and hes dirt poor...
soemthing in his mind is different

My better wealth, or riches, outside of mere money, has been of things like "KICK-ASS AND ALIEN-LIKE" tactics, techniques, methods, modes of operation, formulations, remedies, rules of thumb, strategies, contingency plans, marginals, better judgments, judgment calls, golden old sayings, improvisings, etc. Riches I can and do use that get me much more in this reality than what mere money can only get me.

If our Goverment printed every U.S citizen $5,000.00  for free ... some people will save their money , others will pay debt and mortgages , while most people will spend it. At the same store who hoards money.

When everybody's spending money,  the prices at stores are likely to rise so high that we'd still be in the same position of our money not being worth as much as it was before.

We can EASILY print more money,  but it would be irrelevant because if everybody with that $5,000 wanted an Xbox 1 , then Walmart has to raise their Xbox 1 prices , then Microsoft or who ever makes Xbox rises their prices , Ect.

You need to tax multibillion dollar corporations and force them spread  wealth to their employees (which would also cause inflation)  just printing more money without fixing the root issue is senseless and is only digging us a deeper hole.

Spending money  is what flourishes the economy and creates jobs so if people had money to spend stores will stay in business  and most likely nobody would notice an inflation because they already have a steady income.

If you dont think spending creates jobs , take a look at the  reason most mom and pop shops went out of business, people stopped shopping there.

IMO the Goverment giving everybody 5000 dollars for free sounds like a mean joke.

A few months back this millionaire from the Bay Area went around giving clues where he was  hiding money and people were going apeshit, which is pretty fucked up.

Why can't we live in a world where every citizen made a decent income and peop,e didnt have to worry about getting more money, stealing from each other and  having more wealth than your neighbor ?
