Dragon Age: Inquisition

If you were hesitant about this one after how disappointing the second one was, just get it. I honestly can't say if I like this third on or the first better, it is THAT GOOD. The story is a lot less linear in this one, and the combat system has the option of being a lot more in depth which was missing from the second.
What do you guys think of this one?

I am in love with it.
I was really into DA: Origins when it came out and then DA 2 made me sad, but this made up for it. Possibly one of the best RPG's I've played in a long time.

I'm playing it. It reminds me of Skyrim mixed with Diablo. I've never played the previous games so I can't compare it to those. Fun game

I got it but I haven't had time to play it yet. Looking forward to it. Been looking for a solid RPG. I haven't played any of the previous Dragon Age games so no expectations really.

This one is my first Dragon age game & I think it's pretty awesome... I lost about a week when I first got it cause there's so much to do. It feels a lot like a single player MMO to me. Has anyone played it online with other people? I don't pay for gold on the xb-one so I've been wondering what it's like.

I just got this and start ed playing it after finishing shadows of mordor. I must say I really like it. 2 was such a dissapointment after the epic story in 1, and this is shaping up to be some of the great things without a lot of the garbage.
That said, PC Gamer did a really good article about the game called "Get out of the hinterlands" and I found it to be so very very true. With my gamer OCD I have to complete every damn little detail before I can move on to another area, and with past DA games if you skip something you usually couldnt go back and do it later, you just missed out unless you did another play through. So the hinterlands has REALLY been dragging my game down because apparently you are expected to NOT finish everything there and to take off pretty quickly to other areas early on to get the story rolling and the epicness going.
When I get home from work I plan on finally getting out of the hinterlands. Of course it helps that I literally have done everything in it that I can do at this point except the one dungeon behind the waterfall because my character fell under the floor and caused a catastrophic game failure...
Here is that pcgamer article if anyone wants to read it:

I so far only wish the combat/spells were a little more complex. I remember with the earlier DA games I played on the 360 I had issues playing a mage where I just didn't have enough buttons for all the spells I had, but now it seems like they dumbed it down too much to make it easily fit on a controller. I'm playing a mage this go also and I really need way more diversity in my spells and abilities.
Of course I'm only level 11 and just barely started the main storyline so with so much game still ahead I can't imagine it not being way more complex.

Just picked this up. Little disappointed with graphics but not so bad. Anyone get into multiplayer yet? I played Origins, it was great.. skipped the 2nd one and had to get back to the third.

I've never played the multiplayer, how do I unlock the assassin? Do I have to build some aromor in single player mode?

You have to get to skyhold and once you leave and come back for the first time the secondary class specializations will open up which is where assassin is.
I got confused by this also at first, especially when theyb all unlocked on my npcs but NOT on my inquisitor. Wasnt until a bit later I found you have to actually do quest stuff to unlock your chosen specialization as the inquisitor.
But get to skyhold. It wil be your main base after you leave Haven.
I'm level 21 now, been doing all the areas and side quests and war table stuff and sort of avoiding the main quest like I tend to do in these games.
Oh and to the guy who didnt like graphics, I play on PC and my game on ultra looks fucking amazesauce.

Well this vey much follow the standard storyline model of a fantasy rpg. There are bad guys, there is epic world ending shit happening, there are npc's you can do the nasty with or fall in love. Hell, you can even have some gay sex or borderline besiality with a qunari called Bull.
I really like it so far. I wish it was a true open world but they did do a good job at making enough lands and variation that even though its no skyrim with one giant land, you have lots of little areas to go to that are fully explorable. So a lot less linear then earlier DA games.

Once i started playing online i haven't gone back to the campaign. So far i've leveled a Legionnaire, Reaver and Archer up to 20 then reset them to get the stat bonus to all crits. It did get boring for alittle bit but if you can get a good group together and grind out some X P it's pretty fun.
