Best in ear earphones for the price?

I remember buying some $3 headphones that I read in some review that were the best bang for the buck you can buy, and you bought it straight from the manufacturer.
I looked it up and the manufacturer was monoprice. Any recommendations in their lineup to buy?
Last time I bought a pair it was $3 shipped. So awesome, I should've stocked up on those.

I don't know anything about the hertz and whatever tech lingo means, but quality is something I definitely look for, I just don't want to pay a lot for it. Even if it isn't a name brand, it could function probably just as well, maybe a little less, than a $800 sennheiser. You know what I'm saying? More money definitely doesn't mean better quality.

Yeah it does. My Logitech UE-900s with quad drivers ($200) sound twice as good as my Shure SE-215s ($100) Both are the best for the price.

I've found that the "seals" and fit of in-ear buds affect sound quality significantly.
I've used the Bose sound sport, Beats tour 2.0, Klipsch S4i, Klipsch s4i "rugged", regular ibuds, "cheap" $5 monoprice buds, and I'm currently using the "yurbuds" inspire 400, and I've demo'd about every Polk in-ear bud including the Ultrafocus series.
These all range from ten bucks to ~$150. I have found that although different buds have different signature sounds, none have blown me away as being extensively "better" than one another. There may be differences between say, $10 buds and $150, but once I moved into the $50+ range, I've found it doesn't matter. The comfort is the most important aspect.
I've had similar results with headphones as well. Beyond the basic differences in sound between open, on ear, and closed headphones, there isn't huge disparities in sound quality. Few that I've tried outperform my ATH M50s.
Its tough to find people that will admit it though. Few people would be willing to admit their $500 buds perform similarly to $50 ones, as that would make them look silly.

No you don't get what you pay for. I have a pair of $12 JVC in ear buds that are WAY better than bose. I can hear sounds that I CANNOT hear with my bose. I can hear all ranges, low, mid and high.

These have been incrediculofantastically wonderful for years. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CJTR82/
They don't beat a solid pair of over the ear headphones, though.
