I haven't seen anything on how to hook up the 6500k lights. Is there a socket thing you have to buy and mount in your FC? I watched the Let's Grow Mushrooms! videos and they didn't have a light in theirs so I don't know how to install them.

Nope, they love water, but when you brush off the dry verm layer and rinse them before the dunk, be as gentle as possible so you don't knock off the pins. It's very easy!

ok awesome. Is it important to get all the verm off. Its very secure on the tops of my cakes and is not scraping off easily

It's been collecting the falling contaminants in your jar for the entire colonization + consolidation period, so yes, it's usually recommended to get it off. You won't get ALL of it off, but under a stream of tap water, most of it should come off when you're rubbing it. If it doesn't want to come off after rinsing and scraping lightly with your hand, I'd just leave it.

Hey guys,
I'm trying it, too. This is my first attempt. I grew mycelium on agar and prepared the pf-jars. I think I took a too much water and too much Brown Rice flour, because on the bottom of the jars theres a layer of water and flour. But this could be happend, because I pushed the content of the jars after preparing. After sterelizing I will take a Syringe of mycelium to finish my jars. I'm still a bit of sceptical but as a newbie I have to learn by doing^^ I will tell you, wheater I'm successful, but if you have any hints for me, I would be very happy

It might be a dub tub or something. But yeah, might want to edit that out.

Here are some pictures of my PF Tek grow that show a properly built SGFC and another with fruiting cakes.

Hey guys,
further news to my grow attempt: I think I've got a bacterial problem. It is the seventh day after inoculation with mycelium. In one jar there appears a red point next to mycelium-growth. In the same and in other jars as well, there is a muddy layer on the downside of the jar. I smelled at the top of the glasses no stink at all. I made some pictures, I hope you can help me.

Regards

I was thinking there's no way it's 100% bacteria like that. Like he must've just liquified his BRF and Verm first, heh.
Psilo,
Your cakes are toast, man. Reevaluate your sterile technique.
