Has anyone ever made tea with this?

I know this must have been tried by someone here, so I was wondering if anyone has ever made a tea out of spent PF cakes? If you have, maybe you could share the experience with us.
Of course, I don't want you to think I'm so hard up that I need to drink my cakes, but I'm really interested in how much good stuff is still left in there when I throw them down the trash chute...

There's a tek on erowid on how to extract psilocybin from the mycelium on erowid.

Interesting, did you read it? If it can be done, it makes one wonder why we don't just grow big sheets of mycelium on giant agar dishes...
I will check that out over on Erowid. If it can be done, they've got a TEK, for sure.......I just never thought to look there.
It's my guess that micelium probably has comparable psylocibn as do the fruits. It's hard for me to say though because I have such little experience yet.

Basically none. I've made tea from mycelium both unfruited and fruited (on rye) and nothing good ever came from it.
The actives are never expressed in the mycelium to any significant degree, only in the fruits.

Hey, thank you for having done the work! If you had not done it already, I was giving serious thought to trying it out. It's a question that's been rolling around in my head now for a couple weeks too. You saved me a lot of time and wasted effort.
Ya know, my intuition was telling me that mycelium ought to have comparable levels of actives when compared to the fruits. The problem with these cubes for me is that mushrooms don't seem to follow many of the basic rules for growing Cannabis or San Pedro or anything else I've grown in the past for that matter.

Patience mostly, and you will get everything the myc produces in the fruits. I compost the residue.
