I wanted to contribute something to the forum so i thought to myself what can i offer? in my free time i replace peoples iPhone screens. now im no engineer but tech savy. most repair shops will charge about 100$ for this service. i usually do it for 60-80$ sometimes free for my friends i just have them pay for the screen which usually runs about 30-40$ on ebay. takes me about 30 min. the iphone 4 is a bit more involved so i wont go over that here. so lets start.
You will need a few things: Tool set. you can buy this at your local hobby shop or order online. sometimes when you buy a screen online they will send you some crappy tools with it that will serve your purpose. i have this one, works great.
a blow dryer or heat gun. you will need this to heat up some of the parts that are stuck to the old screen with adhesive. heating them up makes them easy to remove and keeps the adhesive sticky for when u put it on the new screen.
TWEEZERS. there are lots of small parts. tweezers make it easier to grab some of the small screws.
a small suction cup and a guitar pick. use this to separate the screen from the case.
Replacement screen. Determine the type of phone whether it be Iphone 5 or 5S or 5C the screens differ from model to model. when ordering make sure the replacement screen comes with the camera holder thing see how this pic has it
and this one doesnt?

now be sure to take note of where the part ships from. if its from china you wont get it for 2 weeks. if its located in the USA you will get it in like 3 days. i always try to find one from USA. now once in a while you will get a defective screen. this sucks but if you contact the seller they will usually send you a replacement no problem.
Once you have all that your ready to get started. now im not going to reinvent the wheel here so i will direct you to the website i use. Iphone 5 display assembly Now keep in mind if you are repairing a 5S or 5C it will be different from that link so be sure to select the proper repair guide.
you may want to search youtube for some video guides as well so you get a better understanding of how its done. with a steady hand and some patience i think anyone can do this. hope this helped.

the whole purpose of the "shroomery university" isn't supposed to necessarily relate to school...
You can only start a thread on a topic you are very good at, a thing you know how to do well, and your initial post will be reserved for you explaining your expertise to the other members.
This can be any topic: something about how to use the internet, how to turn a lightbulb into a DMT pipe, how to grow Copelandia mushrooms on dung or how to bake an apple pie that turns any grandmother to shame.

My deepest apologies.
