General Newbie ? on FAE during cultivation/incubation period

greetings all, i did search for an answer to my question throughout the discussion boards without any luck so far. I'm new at the basic PF Tek guidelines I'm using to attempt my 1st project on BR cakes. Rather than committing to the probably inevitable purchase of a pressure cooker I decided to go the lazy route & buy some premixed BR jars complete w/ self-healing stab site & air exchange w/ micro-filter. I noticed this air filter on top of the jar is threaded with male parts to where it appears as though one could connect "something". Can anyone tell me if these premade jars are going to vent gas buildup or allow two way airflow as is? The main reason I ask is the threads make it look like you could draw air out manually w/ a syringe.
I just found out from reading the Welcome Page for new members, like me, is that the vendor I chose for my spores has a terrible reputation according to several bad experiences by other members who have ordered supplies through them.
Although bummed since I did already trash two jars b/c of the dreaded black mold of doom, I will recover & use the trusted vendors for all future purchases.
I've already pulled a wealth of information from this user group in the past month since starting on my new hobby. Thanks for all the hard work, suggestions/advice, & journals of your past successes and failures in this journey. Your help makes this endeavor appear all the more fun & potentially rewarding. That's not to say there's plenty of room for heart ache & failure. I just wanted to send out an early thank you to all of the users who have helped so far to make this site the amazing resource that it is.

You probably posted it at an awkward time on the boards and then didn't bother to bump it back to the top when you saw activity.
You would have gotten the help you needed and now maybe someone nicer will help you. The search engine is great and has the answer to every question you just asked.
