ready for the sgfc yet?

These pictures are all from the same jar. The top doesn't seem completely colonized, but look at the rest of the growth in the jar. This will make dunk and roll difficult as I don't want to damage what has already grown. Is it okay to transfer at this point? Is DNR necessary with everything progressing as it is? This jar was inoculated Nov. 2.
Also, I see some dark spots. I lost most jars to trich, so I am hoping that isn't what this is. It doesn't really look like the bad ones did. Is it okay to put it in the sgfc with the others?
I don't know why this jar has been colonized so unevenly and SO slowly.
As you can see there is growth there, but not everything is covered by the mycelium.
I am worried it will dry out and stall.
What would happen if I put it in the sgfc as it is now?

It encountered contamination and is fruiting in a last ditch effort to survive.
Take the jar out, get the mushroom and toss the cake.
How did you PC you jars?

You could clean the uncolonized portions off and fruit them. You used the wrong size jars.

What is the signifigance of the jar size? I bought them online thinking it was one less place for me to screw up.
So I would clean off the parts that are not colonized and put the rest in the sgfc?

I didn't make the jars up. I bought them, so I am not sure what was done. I lost most of the batch to contamination.

Those jars tend to stall out because they are taller than the wide mouth half pints. Gravity tends to compact the substrate and make it difficult to colonize.

I bought the presterilized ones myself. It was a mistake. I got the same jars. Apparently, even if they were properly prepared and sterilized, and the dry verm layer wasn't disturbed during shipping, the jars have problems because of the shape. Being tall they tend to compact more on the bottom. I think that the condensation in mine went to the bottom and made a small section ultra compact. In mine the uncolonized bit on the bottom was rock hard. I was told to wash it off gently but was unable to. Maybe it would have washed off after an hour soak. I wound up digging at it with my fingernail under the running water.

How did you PC you jars?
Is that a guaranteed explanation? I had invitro pins, though my jars were consolidating when it happened and fully colonized.

No,
Mustard corrected me. I didn't notice jar size or that he had bought premade.

We can't say definitively, but those tall jars do tend to stall; could also be contamination or a combination of the two.

growth in pic 1 doesnt look good to me, cant see the lids but I doubt the dry verm barrier is still intact after shipping through the mail. DIY FTW!

Is the mushroom ever able to beat the contamination? It is really strange because I never saw a sign of contamination until it was at the point in the pics. There was just slow growing white mycellium. I am new so maybe I missed something obvious.

If I put it in the sgfc would it contaminate the others? I am so mad that it got so far only for this to happen.

No it won't.
Try what Mustard said and birth it and scrape off the uncolonized parts. Give it a good smell, does it smell like mushroom or does it smell really sweet?

I never thought about how the shipping might impact the jars. Good point. There is so much to learn. I figured I was minimizing mistakes by buying premade jars.
