Pan Cyan: First Time - Need advice

Greetings fellow Shroomerites. I have two jars (~750ml each) full of colonized rye (Panaeolus cyanescens) waiting to be spawned but it seems there are some unclarities left in my understanding of spawning Pan Cyans (since I did only Cubes in the past with good results) which I seek to dissolve. From what I know it has to be spawned to a mixture of pastuerized manure & straw (I have access to fresh horse manure) covered by a nutrient-poor casing layer of peat moss and/or verm.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Which pasteurization technique can you recommend? Pasteurization vs. sterilization issues?
Which substrate ratio and depht is recommended? Read something about 1 - 1,5 inch...
Which casing layer ratio and depth can you recommend?
I still have that Mini-Mono-Shotgun-Tub as seen in my signature (dimensions ~ l:35cm x w:25cm x h:25cm). Planning on using this as a monotub, or do you suggest separate trays placed into the box as a humidity chamber? (remember, spawn ~ 1,5 litres)
What about colonization time? Two weeks as with cubes?
Suggestions on fanning cycle / humidity levels? High oxygen, high humidity I suppose? ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanx for all the help, mates. It sometimes gets difficult to get proper information that suits your project so advice is really appreciated.

rye > spawn to 2 inch pasteurized 50/50 manure/verm > case with 1/4 inch 50/50 peat/verm

pasteurize on the stove top, 2" sub depth 1:2 spawn:sub ratio, 1/4" casing layer, peat based ones are good, expect faster growth than with cubes.

You want field aged manure, fresh manure has lots of amonia in It

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn I'm tired do me a favor

That should be no problem. What about soaking and rinsing the manure before pasteurization? What about 24h-soak to get rid of endospores? I have a lot of contradictory information about that issue. Any adice on pasteurization length? Some say 160-175°F for 30-40 minutes, some say 2 hours.

Thanks, that will fit the measurements of my Mini-Mono perfectly. Yes, I'm going to case it either way. I suppose the peat/verm has to be sterilized, too? According to my information the casing layer is applied after full colonization of the substrate. Can anybody confirm this? Is it beneficial to cover the substrate with foil during colonization? Anyone got some experience here on monotubs?

Soaking for 24 hours is about hydrating not endospores. Pasturizing is done at 140 to 160 for 60 minutes. pasturize your peat and verm, also wanna use hydratec lime for ph adjustment and gypsum to stabilize the ph while it colonizes, yes cover it with foil with a few small holes for ge. lots of experieced fols around with mono's....not so much with pans but it isn't hard just keep an eye on it, if it is a standard 66 qt you can bump your sub depth to 3 inches no problem

Thanks fot the advice. Am I getting this right, the lime and gypsum is added to the substrate, not the casing layer? I suppose you mean hydrated lime {Ca(OH)2}. What amounts do you suggest for a total substrate amount of ~2,8 litres? It's a 21-litres-box, so this will be the amount of substrate I'll be using. The surface area will be 25x35cm.
As for the casing layer: Will pasteurization via bucket-tek be sufficient?
Will adding straw to the substrate lead to much better results or is not worth mentioning?

lime the casing layer, not the sub, hydrated lime yes, use very little. pasteurize on a stove not by bucket (damions)

10 % by volume of tne peat moss only for the lime and straw holds a fuck ton of water and i will never argue with using it
