It's a round 1/2 disk of wbs. Ive been shaking and beating and it's just chilling in the middle of the rest of wbs now. All my jars are like this that were in the water. Do I need to start over?

probably, but post a pic. the grains were probably too wet when u loaded the jars. dry them longer next time and add more gypsum.

I kept beating the crap out of it until I could break it up. Just knocked em up.. I have more spores and supplies if I failed. They were not leaving moisture on toilet paper when I loaded it. Tossed em for a hour and a half at least. Here is what they look like after I've shaken and knocked up. One in the middle is the only one that looks foggy in it.

oh, well if they shook loose, ur probably good they look ok to me, i can't see any clumps when u have super huge chunks of wet grain that won't break apart after the PC cycle, its just hard for myc to colonize it well.

I've always had a hard time with WBS. If your picking up new supplies i suggest trying to find some rye.

I always have to use the hair dryer for a bit on wbs before loading jars to get it dry enough. I prefer rye.Clean, easy, and cheap (if you know how to buy it)

I'd say add 1 tsp. gypsum to your soak and simmer water. It works like a charm.
