Young Brown like so many of his peers are touted to be such wonderful, talented, gifted and loving people. But so what. A mother cobra watches out for and will defend its offspring while it incubates the eggs too. I am tired of hearing of how the young turd, like so many of the other young turds are portrayed as anything but what they actually were. But then I guess people have to try to paint that picture in regards to blacks, because the truth only serves to promote the stereotypes and thoughts that so many already hold. Believe this to be mean, racist or whatever you wish. I could not care any less. To say that a skunk smells bad is not being mean or bigoted about skunks. It is merely being honest. At least you have to have a bit of compassion for the skunk, for it has no choice in the matter of how it smells. People have the ability to decide what they will do and how they will do it. Young blow away Brown made his choices and they brought about reactions that any moron should be able to anticipate. Give sympathy and pity to those who deserve it. Do not waste it on the Browns of the world. For that is all it will be, a waste.

Most of us are full of shit and much of that spiritual mumbo-jumbo is just justification for escapism. Some of it is legitimate, but I'd guess like 15-25% max. Not that escapism is bad in itself either, as long as you recognize it for what it is. National pride is just as dumb and far more dangerous than racial pride.

It's my belief they strengthen people's ego even more. I think hippies have the biggest egos of them all.

People's sense of the word 'ego' is used incorrectly in a lot of conversation when it comes to psychedelics. People think of it in terms of ones obsession with self, and when they hear that psychedelics produce ego death, they believe it promotes positive long term changes in psyche when it comes to getting rid of people's 'messiah' complexes and sense of selflessness. What they aren't really getting is that ego death in a old sense of the word certainly happens on psychedelics even though it doesn't happen in the context described in the previous sentence.
If you take 10 or more grams of shrooms (dried) you'll certainly have trouble knowing who "You" are, or where you came from. Take a few hits of salvia, you certainly wouldn't have any sense of the difference between you and your immediate surroundings. Ego (I) gets destroyed in a lot of contexts from these experiences, certainly. Yes, temporarily (not long term), but I feel like the big misconstruction comes from use of the word ego in modern speech to refer to people with vain attitudes and such, rather than the more philosophy/freudian definitions that apply the word to the sense of I you get when referring to yourself dichotomically opposed to everything else, or the sense of cultural programming you're exposed to (super-ego).
