Which species should I become familiar with if I'm is looking for actives to identify in a riparian area of the Valley? Bit of a bay influence as well.

In the bay area actives thread I notice P. Allenii and P. Cyanescens seem to be most common, but being this far inland and late in the season I wondered whether there would still be specimens around. Would it be better to look around riparian areas or pastures?

If I'm too late, What species can I look forward to in the coming months?

You are pretty much fucked, P. allenii season is over and will resume late October 2015.

Neither, you want to look in woodchips in urban landscaping. Alan is probably right though, unless we get a good storm with lots of rain and warmer temps the season is about over for them.
