Anyone ever have experience with TAK Mountain Cubes? Just wondering if they are anything special or just a run of the mill type cube. I have a chance to snag some colonized grain jars from a buddy of mine and was wondering if they are worth giving a go.

its worth "giving it a go" because the jars are already colonized, regardless of variety. snag em and spawn em. its hard to find friends that give away grain jars.

The reason I'm inquiring about them is that I currently run 3 monos and alternate from KSSS and B+ and am very pleased with both. I just don't want to take up valuable space with something sub par.

Quote:
Here’s how RogerRabbit says PE 6 came to be. “A single sector fruiting isolate of PE, and another of TEX were placed on a petri dish with rattlesnake venom added to the agar. The snake venom helped the two dikaryotic strains share genetic information to form a third sector, which was which was labeled PE6. Other Isolates of the PE were labeled PE 1-7, and apparently, some of the 6, which was the cross, were in the same batch of prints. The idea was to get a good spore producing PE, but I never had time to stabilize the strain due to accidentally releasing it early. That’s why sometimes they look like texans and sometimes very much like PE.”
Sporeworks had "atlantis #7" and "atlantis #3" for similar reasons, now listed as Psilocybe galindoi (galindii) var. Georgia ATL#7
I see they no longer have ATL#3.
As PE is so in demand and so hard to print from I always found it strange that live cultures were not more popular, where legal.
I remember getting several "agar bags" years ago when it was legal for me. They still sell sclerotia but never in tiny amounts which is all you would need to grow from, i.e. selling doses.
I got a surprise TC once of PE

Just an observation of my first inoculation. MS so I know it doesn't say too much I know a lot of people will just treat this as hoopla but I figured I would note it anyways. I recently inoculated brf cakes with treasure coast, brazil, and albino A+. Temp has been a steady 70-72 maybe cooler at night. keep them all on a shelf in my room. I have 9 fully colonized cakes and 6 of them are brazil. 2 tc's and an AA+...Brazil seemed to blow the others out of the water. Almost fully colonized are 2 tc's, 2 a+ and one brazil....and then 2 A+ and one TC that fell behind, but most likely from not inoculating at all points. So there it is, my experience with MS inoculation. Brazil seemed to be the fastest colonizer...Nothing proven

What dose that even mean. There are many different types of mushrooms that grow in many different ways. Pan cyans like a manure based substrate, thin sub depth(less than 2") They require a casing layer to fruit properly and the don't like to be misted once pins form. Other than that they grow a lot like cubes.

Are you referring to pan cyan or ps cyan? There is a big difference. Pan cyan can be grown much like other cubes but will wantmore FAE making a casing a good idea. They also do well with a thin (2") manure substrate.
Ps. Cyan are woodlovers and will need to be grown outdoors.
