the picture isn't that great, but the meal was. i cut the mushroom up pretty badly when i cloned it.

i cooked it in olive oil, malbec wine, various spices, and even put some zatarains crab boil in there.

this is one of the tastier wild mushrooms i have found.

I sort of remember them tasting a little bit like cocconut. They are very meety mushrooms with a good texture.

You guys don't know how to cook mushrooms. All that wine and shit just makes em swell up with water. A unique and very Parisienne way of cooking them is to break them up by hand, not cut them, then sear them in a hot skillet in light oil with just salt and pepper until they get crisp and brown on each side. At that point they have texture, and a delicious flavor. This is the way to do it.

I hear that it's got the same texture and taste as lobster if cooked correctly.. never tried it myself but it's going to be one of my next projects  :tongue:
