X-mas stroll

I went for a walk yesterday, just wanted to post my finds and maybe someone can help with the unidentified ones?
#1 Coprinus comatus

#2 Russula sp

#3 Not sure, rusty brown spores

#4 Lactarius deliciosus

#5 Lycoperdon sp

#6 Sarcodon sp?

#7 A huge Russula sp (or what's left of it), it had about 5 cm (2 inches) in stalk diameter

#8 More Russula sp

#9 A very dark brown Agaricus sp

#10 Amanita phalloides

I just thought these couple of drying up leaves looked neat

And merry huntings

Any more info? Looks like a haggard Cortinarius sp. C. caperatus, maybe? Probably beyond proper identification.

It was way too small for any Cortinarus I've ever found (about 3/4 cm in cap diameter), it was a bit burried so I'm not sure if it could be associated with any roots, if so it should be associated with Pinus pinaster, it could also just be associated with rotting wood instead, that place has some of it, it was growing from the soil though.
I didn't bring it along, I know the spore color because some of them were on the stem which was pretty thin.
I'd say this is a small mushroom, not like most Cortinarius I usually find. I didn't notice any particular smell.

There are species of Cortinarius way smaller than that, I frequently encounter specimens in the subgenus Telamonia with a cap diameter of a mere centimeter. The challenge is that many if not most of these require microscopy to get anywhere with.

Note the obviously rust-colored spore deposits on the stem. Definitely not Inocybe spores.

Thanks Art I didn't notice any particular odor for it, I know that it's probably impossible to identify without any additional info, but it kind of resembles this, I should have cut it open I know.

It doesn't look like C. caperatus though, at least for description and pics I'm finding. The spores were definitely as rusty as I've only seen in Gymnopilus and Cortinarius sp.

C. caperatus was a mere guess. If I find small specimens of that, it is very often with larger ones close by.
I suppose it is not a Gymnopilus, looking at the gill edges.

Sorry, thought Inocybe had brown spores. And the cap looks a little bit fibrous. But I am only on my phone... sorry I need to tighten up and get out more! Awesome stuff!

seems to be a lot of objectivity in mycology... colors, shapes, names... makes my head hurt some days!

My mycological headaches come mainly from the subjective part. Not all people perceive colors or shapes - or especially smell -the same way, so the immediate understanding of features is very often, I feel, based on personal encounters and experience.
I am of course speaking as an amateur, relying very much upon the expertise of seasoned professionals. In that respect, it seems to me that doubt is quite often a reliable helper.

Lol, thats what I meant auto correct again, I guess... but yeah, I wish their was someway to fix that... like the paint matching machine at home depot!! Put a paint chip in and it matches and tells you the color. We need a portable machine to put pieces of mushroom in and have it tell an exact color! Lol just one of the many reasons I love mycology

Wow that would be an interesting machine! I think that the best thing with colours is the amount of different new shades I found From the brown spores I think the rusty brown are the most different, they tend to have that diarrhea shade I find the pinkish spores to be more difficult to recognise (unless they're really pink has I've seen in C. nuda). There's an interesting documentary about how differences in colour perception are associated with language and culture among others, it's called "Cracking the colour code".
