hi there i am a 30 year old white male and live in the east bay area of northern california, i was on a quick vacation once about a year ago skateboarding around and it was in november, the beginning of it, around the 8-16th. and i was in a small town near auburn about a hour and a half east of sacremento and i was walking by the firestation to go to the skatepark and found a big patch of aminita muscaria growing on the ground under some pine trees, there were about 22 to 30 of them in all shapes and growth levels, some of the caps were as big as some small dinner plates and they all had large stems and some were still balled up caps with big white smushy spots, i collected probably close to about 10 lbs all together wet, but some of them had maggots on the inside of the stems, i had to brush off the pine needles on the ground to find them, but i could see all these little bumps in the needles, so anyways i was thrilled and i went back the next year and they were there again during the same months.. pretty good find i think that was my first ever amanita muscaria discovery so i thought that i would post it online, i wont tell of the location, for obvious reasons, but happy trails.

I think you just broke damn near every rule on the forum.
Maybe not that bad, but still,

yeah that would be cool, but its not in sacremento, it was in grass valley... i found the amanita muscaria on the front lawn of the fire station!!!!!! same colors!!!! interesting, they were growing under pine needles, there were alot, i picked to plastic shopping bags full!!!!! safeway bags... tee hee... i used to live out there but now i live in the sf bay area.. but yeah i would like to go hunting for some other kinds, the trip was pretty good, but it wasnt as good as cubes, but different kind of good in its own way. i heard that you can find liberty caps in california, i think that i have seen them before, but i think that they look poisonous, maybe there are lookalikes????

Cool story. We actually found some muscarias, probably flavivolvata, in Sacramento too? A few days later some boletes began growing there too though. I want to see if they're still going to be there next season. It's cool we at least have those because from the looks of it we don't have much. I want to see if there are any psilocybes growing within a 30 or so mile radius of sac.
