got a question
    #2102271 - 11/13/03 05:19 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

i awoke this morning to check on my 11 jars incubating. One has been looking bad for a while and i threw it out today. But one other jar only had a small quarter-sized spot of what looked to be green mold. This is very new, because when i looked at the jars approx. 18 hours before this , that jar was fine and showed no contamination. I knew the cake was fucked if i left it in the jar, so i removed it, cut a big chunk out of it, probably 1/4-1/3 of the cake(the part with the contam) and made a little casing out of it. Is it possible that this might work, or is is fucked because i made it from a slightly contaminated casing???

You know, Ive been fighting green mold on WBS too. Wierd enough though I went ahead and cased one by itself that I was sorried about and a week later, it definitly had mold on it. I left it in the closet and forgot about it until about 3 weeks had passed, and the green mold was gone. The Healthy myc must have beat it up. Thats the only thing I can think. I Cased it and cold shocked it. Its in the fruiting chamber now, and looking good. Ill let you know if I get fruits from it.
