Hello everyone! Drummers, Percussionist, Musicians, Enthusiast, Bystanders, and Pub-goers! Welcome to the Percussionist of the Pub thread!
A little about my music history:
I've been drumming (and playing hand percussion) for 5 years now! 3 years on the kit 5 with hand perucssion I've played with many local drum circles as well as private events. For pleasure and professionally. What i can jam on: Djembes, Frame drums, Hapi drums, Drum kit, Congas, Bongos, Cajon, block percussion, doun douns, you name it! (along with the Melodica too which is not a percussion instrument)
Do you guys have any cool kits? or Percussion in general? any sample tracks? lets talk hardware, drums, heads, sticks, stands, mics, software, music theory, reading drum music, writing music, recording, anything and everything! join us on the count and lets slap some skin!
Heres a pic of my drumkit i inherited from my grandfather. Its a vintage Ludwig Black Panther set. What are you banging?

I got my start at a young age interested in African drumming and taught myself on the Djembe to play traditional African rhythm's. I then moved onto most any hand percussion i could find to slap and found many mentors and tutors on the way who taught me technique and tuning. Including some very well known African percussionist of whom my friends had met and hosted while they went on a mini tour here in the states.
I eventually inherited my grandfathers kit, and took lessons for two years to help make instill habits and form as well as learn to read and write music for the drum kit and percussion. Id like to eventually go back and take some more as I'm always learning. I jam with a bunch of my friends a few times a month and carry a drum with me wherever I go.
I always wanted to play something and never had the opportunity or faith in myself until i began slapping skin.
Edit: also whats your favorite tunes to jam to or genres? (Better pictures to come and replace these as well as the OP)
Im in love with reggae grooves, the one drop etc. Also ska, jazz, and ska-jazz Afro-cuban Afro World beats Etc...etc...
