Macrolepiota procera indoor cultivation
    #20987830 - 12/17/14 02:34 AM (9 years, 3 months ago)

Hello.

This is my first post, i am trying to get fruiting bodies of Macrolepiota procera indoors. I love that mushroom.

I began with grain spawn and tried to grow it into a mixture of horse manure and sawdust.

This is the result.

I can see ryzomorphic mycelium, no mold.

When fully coloniced (1-2 months) what should i do?

Cold water shock? Cold shock? Casing layer?

Any experience?

I thing it is possible

Greetings to all.

I'll be watching this!  No immediate advice or recollection of having read anything but I'd love to learn with you if you have a clean culture

I was thinking of trying my hand at Macrolepiota clelandii this winter.

is your strain a clone or wild print isolate? How many strains are you running? Are you casing and if so is this just pasturised peat?

I will try with rye grass seed and manure compost cased with peat.

Hi

I have tho strains running

One is a clone of a macrolepiota in my area
The other is a commercial strain from Mycelia.be

I tried a Cassing layer with horse manure unsterilized but it was colonicez, I'll try with peat too.

Hello

Yes this is a clean culture, i can see "fibulas" (I do not know as is said English) on microscope, secondary characteristic mycelium

I have buried this block in a pot with horse manure cassing layer, spraying with cold water

I also put some seeds of wheat, if it influences the fruiting

Good luck your culture.

Hmmm perhaps this specie requires a unsterile casing layer to fruit.

Basing in places of natural fruiting (forests and grasslands) maybe the cover layer should be slightly decomposed organic matter such as dead leaves and perhaps interact in some way with live plants

Or maybe an abrupt change in temperature and moisture content of soil, usually appear in September-October when the first rains of autumn

Cold shock as well. Ours appear after cold weather and rain.

Spraying with cold water is not enough, they need long periods of time of cold shocking... hours. (if that specie requiere one).

Hello

I have some news for this post that i would like to share with you

At first i made 4 blocks with macrolepiota procera

1- I Inoculated unsterile horse manure with Macrolepiota mycelium grown on wheat grains; substrate was fully colonise, i put it on fridge and covered it with more horse manure, this layer was fully colonised, so i tried it again with sand, after that some mycelium groth through sand, but nothing growth.---Fail.

2- An sterile horse manure block fully colonised with Macrolepiota,I buried it on a pot covered with horse manure. Nothing growth by the moment.---Fail.

3- An sterile horse manure block fully colonised with Macrolepiota, i buried it on garden, Nothing growth by de moment.---Fail.

4- An sterile horse manure block fully colognised with Macrolepiota, not buried still, i can observe little dots al over the bag.---Pinning?

I upload some photos

Could this be pinning?
