    #2100341 - 11/13/03 06:27 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

hello huters ,
this is my first post.
we had a royal day in the woods searching for the "king bolete" . everywhere we looked there were colonies of kings running into the forest! we picked about 20ilbs and left most of mother natures royalty to procreate... mmm yummy...

Very nice finds. I myself would love to find some. I had place that was a public park that I used to find them, but they gated it off and put up no trespassing signs. I'll have to find a new hunting ground.

those look more like slippery jacks (pine boletes) to me. at least the top one, boletus edulis has a netlike matrix on the stipe that becomes the pores at the top.

and the presentation is cute, haute culture, a bottle of wine, a fake global knife, and a dishrag. props on the dishwasher and bottled water

i have the same set of marble coasters

thanks for all the enthusiasim,
ya the one on the top does look yellow for some reason, I think it was found uder a log.I'm pretty sure it is one species and in the other pics it showes more brown . It was a great find that week , one week after the huge rains , and they were all found in and around fir trees.
