Potency in the flush count

Do yall believe potency goes down, as the number of flushes goes up?
I used to. Until I personally tried my own from a 1st flush and from a 5th flush. And didn't feel any difference each time - not that I did any documenting of the sort.
But I havent read or heard any scientific proof of the statement that says Yes potency does go down as flushes go up, and I want some of it's true.
My current philosphy: A mushroom's a mushroom - a cube is a cube....and cubes make you trip, period. You can obtain a different level or type of trip based on amount consumed and cube strain type - but a cube from flush 1 ... makes you trip like a cube from flush 5, long as it's healthy and not contaminated.

That's odd that there was practically no alkaloids in the first flush, which definitely runs counter to most of our experiences. I wonder what caused that. It does make me suspect the whole experiment. I'm sure their methods of measuring it were not flawed, but there is definitely something different about either their method or genetics that differs from ours in its results.

there were alkaloids in every flush it looks like, just not psilocin until later flushes, according to the study.
either way, they got great BE. 10g rye to start, 2.7g dry average (so ~270g wet average) = 270% BE

Yeah, but it wasn't much. Iirc the first flush in total had about 20% the potency of later flushes. I guess I've never eaten a first flush specifically that I remember, I tend to mix all of my mushies together. Maybe there's something to it, but I just feel like we would have noticed that by now if it were a trend.

This thread was moved from Advanced Mycology.
Reason: Moved to cultivation.
When growing from multispore inoculation, each flush is often a different strain. Thus, what happens on one grow isn't what will happen on the next, nor does one person's experiences equate with what you'll see. When growing from isolates as is done with edibles, it becomes possible to build accurate data. RR

Good bit of information to point out RR, thanks. I truthfully had not thought of that or paid it much attention. That would also explain each flush showing different results in fruit/harvest, correct?
