If I'm not mistaken, it's the theater owners who are pulling the movie, not Sony, which means some theaters will still be showing it as scheduled.

There's no plug to pull.

Sony spoke by phone with exhibitors Tuesday to inform them the studio will proceed with plans to distribute “The Interview,” but said it would not make an issue of theater owners elected not to show it.
http://recode.net/2014/12/17/the-interview-new-york-premiere-canceled-as-exhibitors-re-evaluate-films-release/
So I guess the NYC premiere was cancelled, but they're still going to distribute the movie to theaters that don't mind showing it.
Edit: As of 3 minutes ago. https://deadline.com/2014/12/sony-theater-owners-pull-the-interview-terror-threats-1201327612/

Yes. I believe that's the city of Seoul, South Korea.
A very technologically advanced city by the standards in that area of the world.

I suppose the Soviet Union was an isolationist entity then, never had dealings with other countries. Communist China too.

The soviet union collapsed and China has adopted free market reforms.

And they were isolationist entities prior to their collapse and/or reform?
My only point is that a communist country can keep the lights on no problem. When the international community shuns you economically it's a different story entirely.

Well sort of most communist nations strive for self sufficiency and shun outside trade. I would bet money that Red China and the Soviet Union had very limited trade with capitalistic or hostile nations. My point is that the more ones nation adopts free market reforms the more likely they are to engage in world trade with a myriad of nations.

Even in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korean, there are frequent black outs and a lack of running water. And Pyongyang is for the most privileged people.

I would likewise bet money that the Cold War United States had very limited trade with communist or hostile nations, and indeed that we were more likely to introduce such embargoes than our communist counterparts were. I get your point though, I'm just saying. Not having electricity is more an issue with being isolated (due to bad policies taken out from a dictatorship), and not being able to properly manage natural resources.

A friend of mine moved to Seoul about 6 months ago. The pictures he's been sending me have been gorgeous. The nightlife seems very fun, and the food even better.
I can't wait to trek through E and SE Asia one day. Hopefully within the next 5 years.

Yea. It's crazy to think about their most modern and populated city being a tiny little pixel of white in that picture.
I guess the Supreme leader forgot to invent a proper power grid when he created the universe.
