Ambient Humidity

Yo!! Question

How does the ambient humidity in a room affect the FAE in a SGFC?

I read some other posts (yes, I did use the search function heh) and RR said low humidity will have a negative affect.

The reason I ask is my room's RH was 20% until I put a humidifier in my place (now I'm around 40-45% RH). I had some poor fruiting previously, so I'm excited to see if the increased ambient humidity helps my mushies!

It definitely helps my skin and nose haha

I've read they benefit from 30-70 (or 30-60?) but someone will confirm.

45 is great ,

as long as you're above 30 you're fine. the temperature gradients from the overhead CFL light which produces a small amount of heat compared to an incandescent, along with the evaporative cooling of the perlite coupled with the natural air currents in any room create the draft that goes up through the bottom holes through the perlite and out the upper holes.

This a great question and informative answers.

Thanks for posting this.

I have to really mist the crap out of everything because it's so dry here. May have to look into a humidifier for the room as well.
