Various fruiting Qs and LC contam Qs with photos (First Grow and LC)

After my first PF grow, all 12 cakes have made it to the fruiting stage without any signs on contam. However 3 of my cakes are looking really dry, 1 of which was damaged while birthing. The other bunch of my cakes are doing fine and I've got a few mature fruit bodies on the way. The dry ones I've left in a plate of water for 12 hours each to try to make them hold some more water. But they still feel about 50% lighter in weight from the other lot. I've dunked and rolled the whole lot. 4 inches of perlite in a SGFC with 95% humidity. Misting 3 times daily and fanning about 5/6 times daily. Sat under a window with no direct sunlight but around 8-10 hours indirect sunlight daily. At 60F which I know is cold but the others are fruiting so I know it's not the cold that is the issue. Could anyone give me any ideas into A. Why they are looking so dry and B. Why they are feeling so light? (Fully aware they are lighter because of lack of water in the cake. But why would these 3 cakes not hold the water as well as the rest)
And next problem. I've had a go at my first LC purely out of interest. I injected around 2cc into a LC jar, after about 10 days I had nothing happening but could still see the small clumps of spores in the bottom. I decided the mix them up by swirling the jar but being careful not to touch the filter at the top. The next day I have see small white balls with black dots in the middle of them which look like spores however the amount of black dots in there now seem like more than were originally sat on the bottom.
See picture

I do apologise if these have already been asked but I may as well give all you ridiculousy amazing mycologists something to look at and think about.
Cheers

I would never inject or put a straw into a cake. wet verm on top is great though. you cant visually inspect a LC to determine if it's good but sometimes you can tell if they're bad. you have to test them to know if they're good.
