popcorn spawned to coir, I usually use mostly straw with coir and casting with no prob but straight coir makes me nervous since i just pour boiling water to it and go.

It looks like myc to me but it was growing on the coir I sprayed it with peroxide water and it did like fluffy myc and cobweb do and kinda shrunk down so i cased with a very thin casing of straight verm and it colonized the spot in a day. I just want to make sure it's not cob or some other unknown to me whit mycellium looking contam

it's gone. it was bad contam'd so much for using coir pasteurized. I have been using it out of the microwave, mix the coir and water in a bag and nuke it to make it expand, I usually mix it with straw but there was some left over so I used it straight with p'corn. The pic was taken after I sprayed it down with h2o2

How do you know it was contaminated? No offense, but if you are green enough to need to post pictures asking, it's possible it wasn't contaminated.

I think I knew it was didn't want to admit it. It was put up upon coming back a day later the white had turned greener than I:smile:. It's like I said it looks like myc, but the way it came on so fast was unsettling. I'm not completely new to this I just figured I would come check out the contam forum and see if I could learn about cobweb and fighting it. I will just throw it away and stick with properly pasteurized subs from now on. Are you an expert grower?

Cobweb will completely dissolve from h2o2, for future reference.

Green is usually a sign of mold obviously, but bruising can sometimes appear green and this can confuse new growers.
