i was thinking this as well, the only reason im not doing it right now is because blinking light draws extra attention to your setup. no need for that.

ive heard mushrooms grow the fastest right when the light is turned on and right after the light is turned off. id like to hear some expert opinion on this as well. plus if you left it on all day, that would be equal to 12 hours of light on and 12 off.

someone smarter than me please comment.

Do not use this method it doesnt work at all i noticed that as soon as i alternated to 12 on 12 off there was and extremely increasing ly high rate of Co2 which means that the shrooms werent growing as wel as they could be under blinking lights, if at alll!

I know plenty of ppl who recomend the 12/12 lighting cycle for fruiting. I have never tried this, but I hear it's the way to go. How exactly did you measure the Co2 level? How does having a high level indicate a LACK of growth? Please explain for us this doesn't make sense too me.

As far as I am aware...the only function light has on mushrooms is to initiate pin formation and to direct the fruit body in the correct growing direction.

I have used 2 hr light cycles and 24 hour continuous lighting...both work, I am unable to see any difference in either cycle. I think blinking lights would work fine...I use a fluorescent light which blinks at a very high rate.

Clever man. So in that case I'm gonna stick my shrooms in front of my computer screen. That mofo refreshes screen so many times that I cant even see it until i stand away from it and chomp my teeth together real hard.  :pill2: sorry i havent taken my meds  :nut:
