Hey, Tag, or anyone else...
I am preparing to setup glove box with one side open facing me. I have tyvek coveralls that are dispoable and clean and I've my face masks / gloves ready..
Currently I am sending GF out to get Lysol to spray down work areas and inside box.
So, I grabbed my trick or treat bag from Sporeworks.. and found that one of the 9 syringes appeared to have nothing in it literally, yet it was dark and murky like a thoroughly shaken syringe. Is it possible that this syringe has no spores? I don't even see little stuff floating around... And it's name is Treasure Coast.
Anyways... because these needles are packed so tightly it's impossible to shake them to mix them without loosing the protective seal a tiny bit and draw a little air. I do this without completely remove the cap. I just unscrew it a tiny bit. Is this practice ok? If not how the hell do I mix the spores around?
Note that the syringes that were sent to me were sent with plugs in the actual syringe to keep them sealed. The needles have to be attached when they are needed.

I think a regular still air box would be easier to work with. (not connecting the gloves)
And that syringe has nothing in it, but its dark and murky?
if there is a little bubble of air in them, jst tilt them back and forth so the bubble is going quickly from top to bottom. this is the best way to try and break up those clumps. It might take a little while they can be stuck right together.
good luck

So drawing in a tiny amount of air is bad? Even with cap 99% still screwed in, just enough to let air in? Then recapped completely?
And the syringe that appears to be empty, but dark, seems like a dud. I am not sure, however.

If you do need to get air in yourself, it is best to draw it in through a flame, just to make sure your not bringing in contams from the air. Ive gotten 7 syringes and they always had a little bit of air in it already. It looks like your past this step anyways...and that dud one sounds strange, would love to see a pic of it. You might be able to get a replacement if you mention it to the supplier.

Use soapy water. Lysol doesn't kill mold.

Spores are microscopic. You're probably fine. Test it out.
I always shake my needle before attaching the syringe part but if I attach the syringe part and notice I didn't break it up enough I point the needle towards the ceiling and flick my wrist left and right to break up the clumps.
There are billions of spores in there, what you can see with your naked eye is miniscule compared to what you can't.

Check these out. The first is yesterday, number 2 is today. Should I wait for all to fruit full, or cut the ones that have broken veil?

Care to elaborate? I do it 5x times a day.. exactly how much spritzing and how much fanning?
For exaple.. I have spray bottle.. that I spray the box internally 30 - 40 x with.. then fanning for 30 to 180 secs.. ???
And.. .some of them are breaking veil... so what is my prerogative?
And how are they looking? This is my first success.. I took 4 of them last night.. the bigger ones and I didn't get much effect. It was mild. Maybe they weren't ready? Maybe I took too little? Maybe they suck? Please tell to me the answers, ... the answers!!!

Fanning is not a replacement for FAE....you would need to do it several times per hour....
FAE is constant fresh air in between your manual misting/fannings....hence why there should be 1/4" holes every 2" in a grid pattern on all 6 sides of a SGFC.

I do have it like that. I have several hundred holes in the chamber... so should I install a pc fan in their somehwere? If so where? The lid is not solid.. I cut out the middle of the lid to put clear saran wrap....
Lastly, how am I doing?\
Edit.. I just realized they are not 1/4 inch holes.. they are 1/8... fixing now...

The right size holes will be a big help. You need holes in the lid too in case you don't.
