Drying the big one...

hey! anyone with experience in drying amanita muscaria? the main problem is it's size -incredibly huge- being water the main and troubling part of this shroom, I've tried to dry it as the other shrooms but it took too much time(some parts were even creating mold), so I decided to put them on the oven. I think the oven wasn't much better than the previous method, the caps started droping muscimol, a lot of muscimol, so I decided to put them back on the dessicant -I'm waitting for a pic that shows a hole in the dessicant caused by a melting drip of muscimol, nice to see the shit that we are putting on our stomach - until now(1 month later) that they are almost 100% dry.
now, the second and last doubt. In every method I tried, there were those 3 shrooms very stuborn! they were always wet, sticky and completely "undryable", they look like gelatin, and in the oven they start to melt and dissolve -very strange, they seemed diseased- and I had to despose them. any toughts on this?
transcendental hug, vasco

Try using a food dehydrator on its highest heat setting. You don't have to worry about heat degradation with Muscarias and it is even recomended by some sources that I've read to toast the caps before consuming. This should solve your problem.

Try a store that sells home appliances. Any store that sells pots and pans and other electronics for the kitchen should have a food dehydrator.

Something I stumbled across. I've never tried this myself, but its worth reading in my opinion.

I dried mine in a dehydrator over a weekend at 175F. Crispy dry, and beautiful too.
