This bucket look odd to you?
    #20957954 - 12/10/14 03:39 PM (9 years, 5 months ago)

Lost the majority of my monos because of a g2g i made with dirty spawn, I didn't know it was dirty at the time, but hell that's life. But this bucket was made with some grains from a couple months back. This is 6 days since spawning to bulk.

It was a low spawn ratio as I only had 1.5 quarts of spawn. It doesn't seem to be contaminated it just is growing oddly. The spawn was mixed not layered. Then a small layer of coir added to the top to cover any exposed grains.

It's either myceilium or trich. You will know in a couple days.

Yeah doesn't have that dark white trich like characteristics. Maybe its just weak mycelium. The jars were almost 3 months old.

Could be. Mycelium will lose it's vigor after about a week of reaching full colonization. The pic did look to be healthy to me.

It's hard to tell from that photo, but it all looks pretty cubensis to me.

I do notice that your bucket walls are covered in sub and even colonizing mycelium. That's not very good sanitation there, and you can bet that it will lead to problems down the road. Just wipe them down with a clean cloth dampened with alcohol and you'll be back in business... :sunny:

I also noticed this. I didn't mix this bucket mysel . I was showing a friend the ropes and he made this bucket while I made some monos. Funny thing is. All my monos are toast and this bucket that my buddy put together is still going. And will do. This was the first time I had even looked at it.

What was your spawn contaminated with? Bacteria? Trich? Fully colonized grains are contam resistant and so is a pasteurized coir/verm sub.
