Still working with BRF cakes, what next?
    #20950359 - 12/08/14 11:57 PM (9 years, 5 months ago)

Hello everyone. I'll get right to the point here. I am wanting to diverge away from using BRF cakes. I get results with them, but they don't seem to get the yields I see from other methods. Seeing as almost nobody seems to use them, I am wondering what the majority of people would use as the best Tek? Should I be working with WBS? I just want to know where easy meets results. Sorry if this is kind of scattered and vague, I'm still a noob at growing

Funny you should ask that.

I did just what you are suggesting. I went to wbs and then when they were done I cased them with verm. I was very disappointed with results-- nothing was growing--- until today.

Good god. My trays are popping like crazy. Mushrooms everywhere.

I suggest that you do it. It will take a little longer but you will make it up in the harvest.

What size jars did you use? I need to buy more if I need something larger than a pint :P

I think I will do just that. I really, really, really don't feel like learning/using agar, especially for the next month while I'm still living with my mother -__- (January hurry up!)

The WBS tek seems to be the easiest to follow and is at least reminiscent of the BRF tek.

I would condone WBS while living with your mother no more than agar.(Though if I was to recommend either, it would be agar, then WBS, at the same time)  In fact you probably should've just left that detail out, people may be wary to help you if they think there's any possibility you're doing this without telling someone you live with.

Yeah I know it's a little sketchy. I've been growing for about 8 months no no problem of her knowing. It's a pretty small-scale operation here right now. Just enough to get me by. I'll be out on my own by the end of January so, everything will get better from there, in all aspects of my life haha. Minus the whole rent thing...

The reason most of us are so pissy on this subject is because if you get caught, your mother could get in trouble too.

I recommended you stop until you move out.

What I meant to say was that she helped me out with my first grow!

Ah fuck it. TIME! I NEED TIME DaMN IT!

In my defense, I am 24. Don't make me out to be a kid haha.

I feel ya. Though I feel it'd be a super safe bet to say a decent amount of people are in my situation

Shut this thread down, homie.

It doesn't really matter if you're 50.  Hows that growing schedule 1 substances at mom's place at age 24 without her knowledge working out for you though?

And nah, this is a public forum.  Would rather keep it public where it belongs.  Sort of like which drugs you've done and how many different varieties of cubensis you grew in your moms house.  Those are public too.

Even if there were people in your situation they must know better than to talk about it.

I'm just working with the information I was able to gather.  Always a good idea to watch what you put out there.

And also the last thing we need is an angry mom who was wrongly incarcerated, coming back with a vengeance against this site, bringing media attention all over it.

edit: In retrospect I feel kind of bad for coming at you like this, but, it's usually just to shock people and get them to reevaluate how they're handling this.  This stuff is not to be taken lightly, prison is no joke.  Now I'm not a total ass and I won't go around slandering you or anything, just be very careful what information you're providing about this to anyone.  It only takes 2 or 3 tidbits, as I've illustrated, to paint a very bleak picture.  Again, this place is public and I'm sure it's not often but cops surely do come looking through here for easy pickings.

Don't be that guy.  Don't be a victim to self-sabotage.  Don't tell us anything we don't need to know unless you just feel like sharing.  You letting that stuff slip to us is an indicator that you hadn't thought much of the gravity of the consequences for all this and where liability falls if the unthinkable happens.  This is your chance to think on it.  A month really isn't long to wait to continue this hobby for the rest of your life in peace.
